Louis Derungs is a cognitive neuroscientist and expert in pain, which he has a lot of experience with himself. He woke up four years ago after a severe electrocution of 15,000 V with a bilateral amputation of upper limbs, severe burns on more than half of his body and excruciating pains. By experimenting, he learned how to control pain. He studied hypnosis, neuroscience and pain and created a method using VR to control it in a non-invasive way. He has also worked in developing VR solutions specifically for children. He currently holds the position of Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Mindmaze.
